"A-Lad-In His Lamp" features Bugs Bunny and Smokey the Genie in a Limited Edition Cel (#110/500) produced by Warner Brothers in 1990. In this cel, Smokey exclaims "Let the bells ring out and the banners fly!" when Bugs Bunny rubs the magic lamp and releases him. Smokey's voice was provided by Jim Backus in the 1948 short directed by Robert McKimson, which inspired this special hand-inked, hand-painted limited-edition cel commemorating "Bugs Bunny at 50." It is purported that Robin Williams drew inspiration from Backus' performance for his portrayal of the genie in Disney's animated feature, Aladdin. Originally sold as part of a five-cel set, this particular cel has been out of circulation for over 30 years and is now difficult to acquire. Bugs Bunny measures approximately 6 inches tall on this cel, which includes a printed background added for presentation purposes.
