To mark the 2026 Semiquincentennial—the 250th anniversary of the United States—the U.S. Mint will issue five new quarters celebrating the nation.

Be among the first to own the third quarter in the 2026 series: the Declaration of Independence quarter. It features the Liberty Bell, an enduring symbol of America’s founding era that hung in the Pennsylvania State House—now Independence Hall—when the Declaration of Independence was signed.

Each 100-coin bag includes circulating-quality coins from the United States Mint in Philadelphia.

For one year only, the U.S. Mint is honoring the 2026 Semiquincentennial with special coins and medals, as well as updated designs for most circulating coins. These pieces commemorate 250 years of American liberty, reflect the nation’s founding principles, and honor its history.

The obverse of the 2026 Declaration of Independence quarter features Thomas Jefferson, author of the Declaration of Independence and the third President of the United States. Its inscriptions read “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” “IN GOD WE TRUST,” and “1776 ~ 2026.”

The reverse shows the Liberty Bell ringing. Although it is unclear whether the bell rang in July 1776, it was often used to gather people for important announcements, including declarations. Its visible crack symbolizes the fragility of the young nation at its founding. The inscriptions are “THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE,” “QUARTER DOLLAR,” “LIBERTY,” and “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.”
