About the Best of the Mint Program

To commemorate America’s 250th year, the Mint curated 21 historic coins spanning from 1792 through the 21st century. After public input and expert review, five legendary designs were selected for 24‑karat gold reissues paired with modern silver companion medals:

  • 1916 Mercury Dime
  • 1916 Standing Liberty Quarter
  • 1916 Walking Liberty Half Dollar
  • 1804 Silver Dollar
  • 1907 Saint‑Gaudens High Relief $20 Gold Coin

This 1916 Mercury Dime Gold Coin & Silver Companion Medal Set is the first release in the series.
