250th Anniversary US-Army American Eagle One Ounce Silver Proof Coin

The obverse (heads) of the coin now more closely aligns with Adolph A. Weinman’s original concept and features his traditional artist mark. Each coin contains one troy ounce of .999 fine silver and incorporates enhanced security features, including an anti-counterfeit reeded edge variation.
Produced at the United States Mint facility in West Point, these coins include a special privy mark commemorating the 250th anniversary of the United States Army, whose birthday will be observed on June 14, 2025. First issued in 1986, the American Eagle Silver Proof Coins are collector editions based on the investment-grade American Eagle Silver Bullion Coins. Each coin bears the “W” mint mark to denote its origin.
Weinman’s classic “Walking Liberty” design remains a highlight of the obverse, illustrating Liberty in stride, draped in the flag, with an extended right hand and branches of laurel and oak held in her left. The design has been refined using historical reference materials, reinstating the artist’s mark and original details. Inscriptions on this side include “LIBERTY,” “IN GOD WE TRUST,” and “2025.” Additionally, the coin features the special privy mark in honor of the Army’s anniversary.

A new reverse (tails) design, introduced in 2021, depicts an eagle preparing to land while carrying an oak branch intended for its nest. Inscriptions include “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” “1 OZ. FINE SILVER,” and “ONE DOLLAR.”

Each coin includes a reeded edge variation for security and is presented in a blue velvet, satin-lined case with a certificate of authenticity. The presentation box displays the official United States Mint seal, while the exterior sleeve is illustrated with an image of the coin’s obverse.
